For most of us, the thought of Christmas conjures the anticipation of surprise and delight hidden in gaily wrapped packages nestled beneath the tree; of tantalizing aromas wafting from the kitchen; of memories of joy and wonder, love and hope, shared among family and friends.  But sadly, for many in our community, this year the magic and wonder of Christmas may be overshadowed by anxiety and despair as families struggle to make ends meet in the face of job loss and economic hardship. To help these families celebrate Christmas, we are asking you to partner with us in
providing Toys and Food for Families in Need
. . . because Everyone Deserves to Have a Christmas!

Since 1977, Christmas Cheer has been coordinating efforts to help everyone in our community enjoy a festive Christmas; efforts made possible because of the generous donations made by people just like you.  Christmas Cheer remains a 100% volunteer organization, which allows us to make the most of every dollar donated.  Dollars used to fill Christmas hampers with a turkey and several days’ food supply, as well as toys and gifts for each child and teen. 

Together, in 2010, we raised over $220,000.00 to provide for over 5,000 men, women and children.  This year, we believe the need could be greater than ever, so our Campaign Goal for 2011 is $225,000.  To accomplish this, we need your help.  Please consider making a donation:

by mailing a cheque made payable to Christmas Cheer to  Box 161, Barrie, ON L4M 4T2.  Receipts for mail-in donations will be issued by Christmas Cheer in February 2012.
