Vision
We are a charitable organization, with a volunteer board, who work to make a difference by ensuring that everyone on our community has an opportunity to enjoy Christmas.

Mission
The Christmas Cheer Board is a group of socially minded volunteers, who are in service to ensure the responsible coordination of Christmas Giving to less fortunate families and individuals in our defined geographic area, specifically: Innisfil, Angus, Barrie, Springwater and Oro-Medonte. We accomplish this through the generous donations of time, money, food and toys by many individuals, schools, places of worship and businesses in our community. We are committed to create positive relationships with our suppliers, volunteers, other charitable organizations and our clients.

History
In 1978, Christmas Cheer's first year in Barrie, 35 families received assistance.  In 2007, 1,465 families (3,353 people) were accepted for Christmas Cheer assistance.  Christmas Cheer works closely with other agencies to ensure no duplication and that everyone who needs help, gets it.

Many of the people who come to volunteer for Christmas Cheer were once recipients.

It's wonderful that this organization is here for people when they need it.

Christmas Cheer also works with 19 community agencies to redistribute items we receive that we do not give out.  Clothing, new and used, baby food, pet food, food in glass containers... None of this is wasted.  It all gets redistributed to agencies who really need these items.
